About the Author
Marie Schor lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband, Reginald Rutishauser. Together, they have one son and three daughters. Marie has several degrees in the educational field. Her doctoral study of yoga and its influence on state assessment results was, ironically, what led her to Christ. Before being a Christian, Marie believed that yoga was the answer to all of life’s problems. Fortunately, God meets us where we are. While doing research for her doctoral thesis, she came to know that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.
For most of her life, Marie has been very inquisitive about how language, culture, and family dynamics intersect. Many of her unpublished writings retell her experiences as a Jewish girl in southwestern Virginia - the Bible belt - and how she perceived Christianity as a child. Since becoming a Christian, she has delved into this and many other themes through the lens of the Bible.
Before writing Beyond the Wheelchair: The life of Sowon Quinn, Marie’s published works were in the educational field. This is her first in a series of “Beyond books” that explore how the average Christian can have an extraordinary walk with God.
